There's more to taxes than just lowering them (although I do think that's a good idea.) There are also matters of fairness and unintended consequences. Here's where I present some thoughts and ideas about how taxes should be calculated and/or collected.
If the assessor thinks my property is worth so much, then he should
be ready to pay that price... really.
Have the federal government and states face off, freeing the populace
to contend with just one level of government trying to pick our pockets
Failing total privatization, we can at least stave off disaster without
tripling payroll taxes as the baby boom retires.
Government protects IP at great expense. IP should have markets, values
and property taxation just like real estate.
